Water treatment in UK

Nowadays the environment takes up a lot of space within the international community: the different countries aim to turn towards a way of buying which are more based on ecology and respect of the environment, to preserve the resources which run out as the worldwide population grows. But the countries are not equal in front of this issue: indeed they do not have the same priorities, and the same involvement level either.

Ecology in the UK

The ecology has not always been the main preoccupation of the country: as a pioneer of the industrial revolution, the United Kingdom has been for a long time considered as one of the biggest polluters of the world. But things have changed: people became aware of the environmental impact of the industry, and now the country thinks about a way of buying more respectful towards the nature.

The problem of dirty water

The soiled waters have always been a big preoccupation: indeed the government realized that the resources of the planet were not inexhaustible, and that water was a rare commodity to preserve at any price. That is why the country set up a soiled water recycling system, to be able to reutilize it for the daily use.

How to treat water

The soiled waters are subject to a particular treatment: firstly they are filtered through a big sieve to remove the biggest sediments. Then the water is treated with chlorine to purify it. Then it is placed in a big settling tank to enable the sedimentation of the smallest impurities. Once it is clarified, the water is filtered one more time through a thinner sieve to entirely get rid of the sediments, and it is the subject of a last treatment with chlorine to remove the organic pathogenic bacteria. This way of recycling enables a better use of the water and the reduction of the wastage.
